Early Season News

Hi Divers!!

Our local training/fun spot, Baptist Lake, is up to almost 70 degrees on the surface and Vis has been 25′ or more all spring. Not great when you think Caribbean, but we’re in Michigan right now.
Stop in for your Free bag of fish food as the Bluegills have had their “Spring Refresher” and they now remember that divers equal food!! Either at the beach or on the platform just do some banging and in they come!!
As we left the lake today and they let us know they were spraying the lake today and divers should stay out for 24 hours.
Also, There is a PADI Nitrox class Thursday, June 18, that has room in it.
Below is some info from GRSC on their first outing.
Thanks,
Mike

Subject: Picnic and Diving at Gull Lake
Date: Mon, 15 Jun 2015 05:52:23 -0700

Hello divers,
It’s time to kick off the 2015 dive season with our annual picnic at Gull Lake.  We will be meeting at Ross Township Park on Saturday, June 27.  Some of us will be there between 9:00 and 9:30 to get set up, then hit the water.  If you can’t come early, the general plan is to dive in the morning and eat around noon.
GRSC will provide the grilling items, pop, water, and other essentials.  All you need to do is bring a dish to pass.  If you have not been to Ross Township Park, the park is located at 3500 Gull Lake Dr.  There is a $5.00 entry fee into the park per car.  And don’t forget, we will be having another “Attendance Contest” for our summer picnics.  The more you attend, the greater your chances to win.  We have a great prize for the winner.  The drawing will be held at our last picnic in August.
For planning/food purposes, if you think you will be attending, can you let us know by June 24 how many will be attending?
Let’s go diving!!  We hope to see you there.
