Munising has become a steady draw for a week-end of easy diving, but the techies can do shore dives to 150′! While not all the wrecks are as shallow as the Bermuda pictured here, all are within range for the novice diver.
Weather and heavy waves are rarely a problem because of the islands in front of Munising Bay. The Pictured Rocks, the old Life Saving Station, six waterfalls, and many other topside attractions make this a well rounded rounded weekend. The grandson & I used to trout fish the streams on our way back to the Bridge for a couple of days.
We will lead two boat dives per day with shore dives offered, Saturday will start at 1pm and Sunday we will meet the boat at 9am. We quite often dive late Friday afternoon at the old docks behind the High School and on Saturday there is a spot where you can do a shallow weed bed or turn left 90* and drop as deep as 150’+ in the channel between the mainland and islands.
Snacks and drinks will be provided on the boat. Air fills may be obtained at the dive shop (No Nitrox or Rental equipment available!). The Sunset Motel is dive friendly and situated in a beautiful spot on the Bay, but fills early. There are many small motels around town.
