About American Dive Zone

American Dive Zone is a full-service dive center serving the greater Grand Rapids area. For over 25 years we have served our dive community by providing top-notch scuba diving training, exceptional gear and tank services, access to high-quality gear, and support for local diving with air and mixed gas fills. American Dive Zone has processed 4,000+ certifications, taken divers all over the world, and built a local dive community with over 500 active members. The current owners acquired the business from its founder, Mike Palmer, and are dedicated to providing divers of all levels with the best training and guidance to further their dive journey.

We are two enthusiastic scuba divers who have worked for a decade in corporate, and are excited to bring our unique skills paired with our intense passion to the scuba diving industry. Scuba diving is what brought us together as a couple, and has been a common theme in our relationship. Life is short, and we want to be able to spend as much time together building a business that will help change lives and make the world a better place.

We care deeply about community, and believe in supporting both the people and indigenous sea creatures that call Michigan home. Any Michigan local will agree when we say the lakes in Michigan are a hidden treasure. Between the shipwrecks teeming with life and history to the alien like fish and creatures below.
