Hi Divers,
Well, even with the Covid Curse we have managed to stay diving this year and there is more to come.
We have been invited back to the Kentwood HS Pool starting this week so we are back to the old schedule of one weekend for pool work followed by one for the Open Water Dives. Students and refreshers are welcome to sign up and I will soon set dates for Discover dives.
This weekend, Sept 19, we had planned to drift the St Clair River as we have before but I am watching the Turbidity numbers ( www.divetemp.com<www.divetemp.com> ) and they are between 1.4 & 1.6, generally refered to as medium and low vision mud When we did a few weeks ago it was .6 and barely do-able.
Next weekend, sept 26 & 27 we will be at Gilboa Quarry. To all you AOW students, this is a great place to do those dives. Call us.
We have not had any picnics this season, but Saturday, October 17, we will have our U/W Pumpkin Carving Contest at Baptist Lake.
Open Water dives will go until the end of October, AOW and fun dives on any decent weekend until it freezes.
Dive Safe,
Mike
